Production update w/c: 19/12/11

We have come into college on Monday 19th of December for a full day of editing our music video; we hope to complete it today. Currently all we have left to do is:

  • Green screen the remaining few clips
  • Add backgrounds to the green screened clips
  • Colour grade the clips.

Some clips will be made quite light to symbolize a flashback, whilst others (i.e. when the Fox is alone) will be darker to symbolize a darker atmosphere and the sadness of the Fox. The clips of the band performance will be edited, however, it doesn't need to be heavily edited because we used an HD camera and this made the picture much clearer. We just need to make some shots much more lighter, change the size and green screen.

    Ancillary task update:

As well as editing our video, we have also started thinking of ideas for our digipak and creating some of the six pannels. We will each put forward ideas and all have a turn at editing and creating our ideas. We have to do a photoshoot for our ancillary task to know what will and wont work for our pannels and our advert.

    Production Update w/c: 12/12/11

    Tuesday:

This week we will continue to make a rough cut for our video, which we are very nearly finished with. We have noticed that we have a substantial gap towards the end of our video in which we don't know what to fill it with, so we will be spending some time deciding what's best for that spot, we are also concidering doing some additional narrative shooting if we cannot decide with the footage we already have.

    Wednesday:

We have now finished our rough cut for our video. We shall put it in this post later on this week. We have filled the gap as we found out we did have enough footage for it in the end. We have already green-screened a lot of our footage, so the rest of this week will be spent on continuing to do so. Due to being unable to do some workshop time after college for various reasons, we are going to come into college on the first Monday after we've broken up for Christmas for a whole day, just for some extra editing time.

Our video has also been shown to two people out of our group, and they have offered positive feedback to our video- which is encouraging. After we've green-screened, the rest of this week/Monday will be spent tidying it up, colour grading, making sure everything fits and looks correct.

    Production update w/c: 05/12/11

    We are now very close to completing our rough cut. So far, we have experimented with the speed of some of the frames, zooming in on a specific area and reversing some frames, all this helps tell the narrative. Also, we have synced together the vocals of the song with our singing in the band. Left to do is the ending of the song;

    "But ain't it a shame,
    Woaaah, Oooh.
    Ain't it a shame,
    Woaaah, Oooh.
    Ain't it a shame,
    I've let you go.
Plenty of Girls and Boys in Love (x2) "

Our rough cut should be finished tonight (Monday 5th), ready for us to start doing editing with colours/green screen etc on Tuesday.

    Production update w/c: 28/11/11

We are carrying on with our editing, and we have almost completed a rough cut of our video. We will book some workshop times so we can do some extra editing after college in order to get it finished before Christmas.

Also, we are going to rebook the studio whenever it's free so we can get more shots of our band. Particularly close up shots, as we believe we don't have enough close ups of our lead singer. We will also use this time to perhaps take some photos for our ancillary tasks and pictures of our band/fox for cast shots (which'll be uploaded onto here in a separate post)
